BOSTON / CAMBRIDGE, MA - Following a year of dramatic increase in revenue, several new account wins, an expansion of its services and the development of innovative marketing programs for clients, BtoB Magazine has named PJA Advertising and Marketing as Agency of the Year, according to Mike O'Toole, executive vice president and Partner of the agency.
Highlights from PJA in 2007 included agency increase of revenue by 34% new business wins including Trend Micro, GE Healthcare, Cognizant Technology Solutions and Ore Pharmaceuticals; expanded global reach through partnerships with four international agencies and new research partnerships with BioInformatics and ITtoolbox.
BtoB's March issue names the top business-to-business agencies in the U.S. PJA is included along with large agency winner BBDO and mid-sized agency Doremus, both in New York. The magazine recognized PJA's creative work for clients Novell/Microsoft, Trend Micro and TriZetto.
BtoB Magazine selects the agencies based on a range of criteria including client wins, new creative campaigns, demonstrated growth of business, and overall agency performance.
"Our business has evolved. Our charge is to keep our clients moving forward in non-traditional ways," said Mike O'Toole, exec VP-partner at PJA Advertising+Marketing, winner of the small agency category. "Now, a lot of it is about developing rich content that can be deployed in emerging channels, some of which are free, and some of which cost far less than traditional media. As testament to this change, over 50% of our media spend last year was online, including programs in a range of social media and online communities."
Last year, a big priority for PJA was developing content for new interactive channels, including online videos, blogs, podcasts and social networks. "Brands have to create content that is interesting and valuable, not just promotional" O'Toole said. "They have to develop more relevant conversation that feeds into the purchase process in user-generated channels."
